Social Media Technology Today

The social media platform that has been transforming the world today has come a long way and now it’s fast becoming one of the most important aspects of our lives. Now, with almost every aspect of life being revolutionised by this new-age technology, there is more of awareness about its use compared to ever before. This new-age technology allows us to connect with each other directly or virtually and makes personalised connection easier than ever before! And although this can affect our everyday relationships with others, our professional and career ones too, many users can now access different types of content that is completely free on some social platforms and there are several ways through which their digital worlds can be transformed! Social media as a whole The pandemic accelerated this change, as we were forced to spend most of our time at home. Due to this, so much attention was turned towards the social media ecosystem and the impact of its widespread use on all sorts of issues. With people constantly connected via online, they could feel what’s going on around them and even engage with some of the nation’s biggest celebrities! You can find such celebrity accounts as Kylie Jenner (the singer), Snoop Dogg (the actor), Justin Bieber (the comedian) – not forgetting influencers such as Sir Elton John (the musician), Stephen Fry (the writer), Tom Hanks (the actor) – and just like the rest of us, from ordinary users, many people can engage with these personalities. It is often said that “social media works best when used for good” – people use it to express themselves, gain inspiration and build closer connections. In fact, according to Forbes, the average person spends 33 hours per week using social media! Social media technology impact on professional careers As mentioned earlier, social media has played a pivotal role in helping professionals achieve better careers. But it doesn’t stop there! A study conducted by Gartner states that there will increasingly be a large number of employees using social media tools, such as Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, etcetera, to boost their career. At the same time, due to increased use of apps like LinkedIn, there are also plans from companies such as Amazon, Spotify, Disney, Apple, Netflix and Google to make use of such features. As we move towards 2022, it is estimated that millions of people will have access to various entertainment and sports content, and perhaps, just like that, we also will see massive investment into research and development related fields, particularly artificial intelligence (AI)! Social media also helps businesses to create better partnerships with their clients. According to market research firm Statista, 87 percent of US companies plan to implement customer relationship management (CRM) solutions within five years. So if you’re not yet planning to invest in a CRM system, then maybe it might be worth exploring? We have recently written an article to help you understand the importance of implementing such a tool, which talks more about how CRMs play an important part in business success. Also, according to data provider IHS Markit, there are plans to invest $22.6 billion in e-commerce software this year alone. Another factor of big numbers in social media’s adoption is the sheer number of jobs available. For example, according to a recent study carried out by the National Employment Authority (NAFTA), nearly 9 in 10 Americans work remotely! Social networking Many industries have made use of social networks to stay competitive with other industries. From dating sites such as Tinder and Bumble to online game developers League of Legends, social networking apps such as TikTok is quickly becoming a reality, and today there are over 150 million active users in the United States alone! People are now able to interact and share experiences through video games like Fortnite and Overwatch, using popular mobile apps like iMessage, Snapchat and Whatsapp. Apart from that, there are countless applications and services available to those who want to learn new skills through their career, whether that’s coding, virtual reality (VR) or engineering through Udemy and Coursera. Moreover, there are already plans for mass production of AI systems for industries that require complex operations, such as manufacturing, healthcare, travel, education and mining. Additionally, tech experts estimate that half of small and medium enterprises that started back in 2020 will turn to social media apps for revenue growth this year! All things considered, in 2022, there will definitely be a proliferation of such tools across multiple industries, bringing the possibilities for great opportunities for everyone.
